In this patent application Sony describes an organic sensor;

The present disclosure relates to a photoelectric conversion element using an organic semiconductor and an imaging apparatus including the photoelectric conversion conversion

Sony in this patent application is describing a method to improve the spectral characteristics of the sensor.

In order to use an organic photoelectric conversion element, improvement in spectral characteristics is desired.  It is desirable to provide a photoelectric conversion element and an imaging device capable of improving the spectral characteristics.

How they do it is probably beyond my pay grade, but it's interesting to see Sony move ahead and into organic sensors.
