Sony Patent Application: Global shutter with phase detect pixels

Sony has applied for a patent for an image sensor that uses a global shutter and has phase detect pixels.  The purpose of the patent is to reduce the image degradation caused by the phase detect pixels.

In the solid state imaging device which has global shutter functions and a phase contrast AF function about a solid state imaging device, especially this technology is related with the solid state imaging device which enables it to improve the accuracy of phase difference detection, suppressing degradation of resolution.
