Nikon offers RAW video firmware update - for $200
Nikon has announced firmware 2.20 which allows for CFExpress cards (currently only Sony type B cards) to be used on the Nikon Z6 and Z7 cameras.
At the same time, there is also a paid portion of this update that allows for ProRes RAW recording using ATOMOS Ninja V. The Nikon filmmakers kit will get this update free of charge.
From the firmware release notes;
- • Added support for Type B Sony CFexpress memory cards.
- Note: For information on the license for the open-source software included in the camera’s NVM Express driver, see “BSD License (NVM Express Driver)”.
- • Fixed an issue that resulted in colored lines appearing at the bottom of the display when pictures shot in demo mode with FX (36x24) selected for image area were viewed at zoom ratios over 100%.
