Huawei Mate 30 Pro Review
We have a few reviews of the Huawei Mate 30 Pro. Essentially it's a great phone with a great camera system, but no Google Play store or Applications right now (as of the time of this post anyway)
Intriguing - is the camera good enough simply to use the phone as compact camera and forget the applications? If you are still interested, then read on..
DigitalCameraWorld completed their review and stated;
Detail from the main camera is strong despite a shooting resolution of 10MP, which is lower than that of most smartphones. As you can see in the below gallery comparison with the iPhone 11 Pro and Google Pixel 4, the Mate 30 Pro grabs more saturation and contrast, making for a more punchy image. Its dynamic range won’t always stack up to that of the other two flagships, but in automatic mode its shots look good enough to whack straight onto Instagram more often than not.
TechRadar completed their review and had this to say;
- Stunning, true edge-to-edge display
- Excellent battery life
- Class-leading low light camera
- No Play Store (as of Oct[Nov] 2019)
- Screen curve creates vignetting
- No screen-off volume control
The Huawei Mate 30 Pro is a victim of circumstance, but at the end of the day, it’s still an incomplete smartphone until it gets access to Google Play services. As it stands, therefore, while the phone features class-leading everything, we can’t in good faith recommend anyone outside China buy it unless you’re comfortable with the idea of sideloading apps, or are actively seeking a Google-free experience.
