Canon to announce high resolution EOS RF camera for CP+

A new rumor suggests that Canon will announce a high-resolution EOS-R camera (or Canon RF mount) for CP+ which is held in late February.

There is not much in the way of rumor details floating around about this camera except;

  • it's supposed to have somewhere between 70MP and 80MP
  • It will be a more upscale version of the EOS R camera body which means
    • Dual Card Slots
    • Potentially better weather sealing
    • No EOS R swipe bar
  • It may also feature Canon's IBIS which they have been busy working on.

The new DIGIC X that debuted with the EOS 1Dx Mark III seems to be quite fast, and supports HEIF image files and h.265.  Expect these to make their debut in the RF mount as well.
